Safety

Each entry in the 50 and 25 mile ride must sign two waivers:  the Waiver and Release that is on the entry form or online registration and the separate Athlete’s Release Form required by the County of San Diego.

If you fail to separately complete and execute both forms, your participation will be prohibited and you will not be a permitted entrant, notwithstanding the fact that your application and entry fee may have been received and processed and a rider number issued.

The 10 mile riders need only sign the Waiver and Release on the entry form or online registration.  This is a fun ride and not a race.  The 50 and 25 mile rides are a series of climbs and descents.  Most of the descents are steep, fast, and have sharp turns.  Ride accordingly.

ANSI or Snell approved helmets are required at all times during this event.  Any rider on the course not wearing a helmet will be disqualified, their entry number taken away, and may be taken back to the start line by the sag vehicle.  It is recommended each rider bring two water bottles, cash, a spare tube, a patch kit, tire levers, pump and spare tire.  Dress in layers, as the mornings can be chilly and the climbs back over Rainbow Pass can be hot.  Clothing items left at a rest stop will be brought back to lost and found; however, we have no way of identifying these items unless you label them, so we advise you to carry them with you.

Be courteous of local drivers and traffic.  Obey all traffic laws and the directions of law enforcement or ride volunteers.  Ride on the right side of the road and single file except when passing.
